This directory was created based on the unexpected need within the heritage industry, particularly in NSW. The lack of a unified directory for all of Australia was the innovation decided on when the site’s development commenced. We are also not affiliated with any groups, organisations or businesses – we will advertise the links to all heritage supporters to help promote heritage in Australia.
It is hoped that the industry supports this initiative, conceived and implemented by its creator, Kylie Christian, as a community-based project open to all appropriately knowledgeable and qualified people who give back to the heritage industry. It was also decided that a nominal fee would be charged to make it self-funded in perpetuity and force practitioners to review their participation and listing in the directory actively, therefore keeping it up-to-date! However, if you find this fee to be stopping you from listing on the site, please contact us, and we will help you.
For so long, the heritage industry has been siloed by states and regions, creating barriers to what should be common ground. Hopefully, the Directory will help make a change for the better. Kylie Christian
