Earth Matters: Webinar 2 – “Uluru Earth Wall Refurbishment”
EBAA President Peter Hickson of Earth Building Solutions will share insights into the inspirational and iconic mudbrick Uluru Cultural Centre — a landmark in the heart of Australia.
Since its completion in 1995, the Uluru Cultural Centre has undergone its first major refurbishment, timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the handover of Aboriginal lands in 1985. Peter will walk us through his work of restoring the 1,400 m² of mudbrick walls, from minor structural repairs to building new walls, to the application of earth render — a three-month journey of craftsmanship, cultural significance, and perseverance.
