SDA Structures has been a collaborator on many significant and award winning heritage and adaptive re-use projects throughout Sydney and beyond, especially where high levels of engineering expertise and architectural and heritage understanding are required. SDA has extensive experience with projects of all sizes and construction types, from domestic scale residences to small public buildings to larger adaptive re-use projects.
SDA specializes in bespoke projects requiring in depth knowledge of older buildings, and how to accommodate their specific structural properties, strengths and sensitivities while retaining their heritage values. Our significant experience in this field, treating every project as unique, and our ability to foster strong working relationships result in close collaborations with architects, planners and builders. These collaborations continue all through the design and construction process, from initial high level decisions that can critically shape the direction of the project, through to finessing of details which respect heritage considerations while maximising buildability and cost effectiveness on site.
