The Historic Houses Association of Australia (HHA) represents the interests of historic homes and their supporters for the benefit and the understanding of all Australians.

The HHA began in 1988, bringing together the ‘friends’ of some of Sydney’s most important buildings, such as Elizabeth Bay House and Vaucluse House, in support of the NSW Government’s Historic Houses Trust. We act as a collective voice for both owners and the wider community, to ensure that heritage concerns are heard and that historic properties are valued for the contributions they make to our society’s sense of place.

In 2014, the association became national and fully independent of government. It is now a registered charity and volunteer organisation, with a growing national membership and reach. Our work is continually evolving to meet the needs of heritage custodians and supporters and we welcome any initiatives towards the promotion of the Australian built heritage.
