AC Been Consulting Engineers are structural engineers specialising in the conservation and adaptive reuse of historic and heritage-listed buildings and structures. We are based in Sydney, and service New South Wales and all other states and territories. Services include heritage engineering design, condition and feasibility assessments and statements of heritage impact.
Alex Been is a chartered structural engineer with over 20 years' experience in structural engineering design. Since 2009, Alex has focused on the assessment, repair, and adaptive reuse of historic and heritage-listed buildings and transport infrastructure. Alex holds a Master's Degree in Heritage Conservation. He is one of only a few consulting engineers in Australia recognised as a chartered engineer in the field of Heritage and Conservation Engineering.
Alex is a member of the NSW Heritage Council Technical Advisory Committee and the Engineers Australia Engineering Heritage Committee (Sydney Division).
Alex is a member of the Association of Consulting Structural Engineers (ACSE).
